Man bumps brother over cigarette

A 31-year-old man was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly bumped his brother with a vehicle after a fight over a cigarette.
The alleged incident happened at Iipumbu village in the Elim constituency in the Omusati region on Sunday afternoon.
“It is alleged that the suspect was involved in a fistfight with the victim who is his biological brother over cigarettes,” said the police commander in Omusati, Commissioner Titus Shikongo.

During the fight, the suspect allegedly went into his motor vehicle that was in the vicinity and started spinning.
He later reportedly proceeded to chase after the victim and bumped him in the process.
“The victim sustained serious injuries as he was hit against the windscreen and fell to the ground,” said Shikongo.
He was taken to an Oshikuku hospital for treatment.

He has since been discharged and is reported to be in a stable condition.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Oshakati Magistrate’s Court on a charge of attempted murder.
Investigation into the matter continues.
