WALVIS BAY – A 35-year-old man died on Friday afternoon at Walvis Bay when he fell from a garbage truck.

The incident happened at the Walvis Bay dumpsite. 

According to the police, the victim, identified as Ananias Kanisius allegedly attempted to climb on the garbage truck that belongs to Rent-a-Drum Company without the knowledge of the driver.

As a result, he fell off the moving truck and landed under the truck. 

Kanisius sustained serious injuries and was immediately admitted at the Walvis Bay State Hospital, where he died several hours later.

His next of kin was informed.
