Man stabbed to death for urinating on firewood
2016-02-02Staff Report 2 Tsumeb A man was stabbed to death on Sunday evening by a 39-year-old woman allegedly for urinating on her firewood at Nomtsoub open market in Tsumeb. It is alleged that the suspect stabbed the victim with a knife on the left side of the ribs after the suspect’s alleged urination spree. Oshitoko’s regional crime investigation coordinator Deputy Commissioner Naomi Katjiua said the deceased ran to Nomtsoub police station but collapsed before reaching the police. He was rushed to the local hospital but died shortly after being admitted. The deceased resided in Kuvikiland location and cannot be named because his next of kin were not yet informed. The suspect was arrested and will appear in the Tsumeb Magistrate’s Court today. In a separate incident, a 25-year-old male was arrested in connection with a rape that took place on Sunday in Omuthiya at between 12h00 and 13h00. It is alleged the suspect pretended to help the victim to clean and wash her dishes whereafter he later had sexual intercourse under coercive circumstances in the sixteen-year-old complainant’s room. The victim’s parents were not at home at the time of incident. Lucky Shigwedha appeared in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court yesterday charged with the rape. Another rape was reported at Omuntele village at around 21h00, when a 22-year-old Grade 9 pupil at Ondjaba Combined School was allegedly raped by Alpheus Shivute, 23. It is alleged Shivute who resides in the same village grabbed and pulled the victim from the cuca shop, dragged her into the bushes, removed her clothes and had sex with her against her will. 2016-02-02Staff Report 2
