Mannetti has big plans for Malawi clash ... Fireworks expected at Sam Nujoma Stadium
"  Windhoek Still very much motivated by Saturday's morale-boosting 1-0 victory against Niger in their 2017 CAF Afcon qualifier, Brave Warriors coach Ricardo Mannetti yesterday vowed to take the same tenacity and determination into tonight's friendly match when they face Malawi at Sam Nujoma Stadium at 19h30. Namibia will tonight host the equally dangerous ‘Flames’ of Malawi - as they are affectionately known - in one of the two international friendly matches scheduled for the Brave Warriors ahead of their Cosafa Cup quarterfinal match against Botswana on June 18. For their second international friendly, the Brave Warriors will on June 12 visit the Chipolopolo of Zambia, in what is also expected to be a vital match for Mannetti as far as trying out new combinations and giving unfit players a decent run is concerned. ""Tonight's match will be very important for us as a team, because it gives me another opportunity to further assess the squad in all departments and also to try new combination, since some of our senior players will not be part of this year's Cosafa Cup journey. “I also want to give a few players that are not properly match-fit a run, because for players like Dacosta Angula, Wangu Gome and Larry Horaeb, amongst others, tonight's match will mean a lot in terms of getting some game-time,"" Mannetti said. “Momentum is key going into the Cosafa Cup. That's why we have to take all these games very seriously. Tonight's match and the upcoming one against Zambia are both important for our match fitness and for us to be well prepared going into the Botswana match. Doing well against Botswana is important, but we need to take all the necessary steps,” emphasised the former Brave Warriors midfield maestro. Tickets for tonight's match are available at Football House in Katutura and at all Computicket outlets for N$30 each.    "
