The term of office for the current Meat Board members will expire on January 31, 2014, and the Minister of Agriculture, Water and Forestry, John Mutorwa, has urged nominating organisations to submit their nominations through the General Manager of the Meat Board, Paul Strydom, to the minister not later than January 17, 2014. Nominating organisations are strongly advised to submit at least two names (one male and one female) and their CVs must accompany the names. Current serving members are also eligible for re-nominations. Mutorwa also announced that the term of office for the current serving members of the Cooperative Advisory Board (CAB) would expire on February 28, 2014. The Cooperatives Act of 1996 provides specific and detailed information which is applicable, appropriate and relevant to the appointment, composition, duties, functions and meetings of the CAB.
