Meet The Belmondos on Tuesday
"They are called ""the Bel-mondos"" because they cannot be dissociated. For them, music is a matter of roots and kinship. For many years, some have categorized them as uncompromisingly hard bop. Strong advocates of fearless jazz, godparents of family that is used to jazz clubs and high-flying jazz sessions, they have been the incarnation of an image of music played to the hilt with unrivaled verve. Anyhow, they are not ashamed of their pedigree nor of those who have inspired them such as John Coltrane, Yusef Lateef, Dexter Gordon for one of the brothers, Freddie Hubbard, Woody Shaw, Miles Davis, Tom Harrell for the other - which does not prevent them from being themselves. They nurture the flame of jazz that burns inside of them, they offer it to you on stage, and you will keep it burning for a long time to come."
