2016-12-13Staff Report 2 Query: Ministry of Education, when will you release the Grade 10 results and how can we access these results? Response: The Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture has made good progress with the marking and processing of the examination data and will be able to officially release the provisional Grade 10 (JSC) and Grade 12 (NSSC) Higher Level results for full-time and part-time candidates on 21 December 2016. This year 50 012 candidates comprising of 38 277 full-time and 11 735 part-time candidates were registered for Junior Secondary Certificate (Grade 10) examinations at 706 junior secondary schools and 144 part-time tuition centres. The number of Grade 10 full-time and part-time candidates increased by 1 023 (2.0%) when compared to 2015 candidates. The number of markers involved in the marking of the Grade 10 answer scripts was 1716 in 2016. A total of 14 743 of the 65 863 candidates (full-time and part-time combined) entered for one or more NSSC Higher Level subjects. The number of Higher Level candidates increased by 1 360 (10.2%) if compared to 2015. A total number of 240 markers were involved in the marking of the Grade 12 Higher Level subjects. The Ministry is also pleased to inform the candidates that the Grade 12 Ordinary Level results will be released not later than 13 January 2017. Tremendous progress has been made by the Directorate of National Examinations and Assessment to bring the release of the Grade 12 Ordinary Level as near as possible to the Grade 10 and Grade 12 Higher Level results. The results will be available on the website of the Directorate National Examinations and Assessment at www.dnea.gov.na, the website of the Ministry of Education www.moe.gov.na and will also be accessible via an SMS service. The following procedure should be followed when using the SMS services. Send a message which gives the name of the examination, e.g. JSC followed by the surname and first name of the candidate. Both the websites and the SMS service will become active on, Wednesday, 21 December 2016 at 00:15 minutes after midnight. All candidates who were registered for the 2016 National Examinations are reminded to have their candidate numbers nearby in order to be able to access their results.
