Mobile School's Future in Balance
By Wezi Tjaronda WINDHOEK This is the last year the Namibia Association for Norway (NAMAS) will fund the Ondao Mobile School. NAMAS has provided support to the mobile school for the past 10 years. The Ondao Mobile School project was established to provide education to indigenous and semi-nomadic residents of Kunene north. As of 2009, the project will be the sole responsibility of the Government, according to the school principal, Amon Kapi. Kapi told New Era that funding has already been reduced by 50 percent, which has affected the school's feeding programme and the mobility of the school's management in the execution of their duties. He said some units were already complaining especially about the feeding programme, which attracts the children to school. The school started in 1998 with 12 units and grew to 43 units last year. This year, around three units catering for the Ovatue children have been added to the school. As of last year, the school had 65 teachers and close to 2?
