MTC Sunshine boxing fever to hit Oshikango
OSHAKATI - The MTC Nestor Sunshine Boxing & Fitness Academy will take boxing to Oshikango come next month. Local boxing guru Nestor Tobias says this is part of the academy’s commitment to take boxing to all 14 regions of the country and added that they are proud to remain on track with this mandate, because so far the academy has already visited the coastal Erongo Region, as well as the Oshana, Kunene, Hardap, Oshikoto and Omaheke regions where it held and promoted boxing clinics at professional and amateur level. Oshikango residents should brace themselves for good quality boxing as Tyson Uushona features in the main bout against James Omogo from Kenya over 10 rounds, which is expected to be an exciting showdown between the two boxers on September 07.  There will also be high profile supporting bouts with Samuel Kapapu featuring in the main curtain raiser against stable mate Jatoorora ‘The Sting’ Tjingaveta, to defend his national lightweight title. Other exciting undercard bouts will also be on display and the promoters have promised exciting boxing and entertainment with popular songbird Lady May ready to entertain the boxing audience. An upbeat Uushona has promised boxing fans a night to remember. “I am as fit as a fiddle and ready to knock him out,” he boasted. VIP tickets will cost N$200, while standard tickets are available for N$50 only. “We are making every effort to make access to our boxing matches accessible and affordable because this is a people’s sport,” added Tobias. The boxing will take place at the Oshikango Shopping Centre and tickets are available from Computicket countrywide and at the Oshikango Shopping Centre. Bouts will start officially at 18h30.   By Staff Reporter
