Mutorwa sings late Tjandja’s praise
"Rundu The chairperson of the Swapo leaders assigned to Kavango East, John Mutorwa, has described the death of the party’s regional mobiliser for that region, Erick Tjandja, as an immeasurable loss to many. Tjandja, 44, was the sole occupant of a vehicle that collided head-on with a government car in which three other people died. The incident occurred on Wednesday last week. Tjandja was the principal of Rundu Vocational Training Centre (RVTC) between 2007 and 2010, when the centre was still under the ministry of education. After the Namibia Training Authority took over the VTC, his position was changed to centre manager, the position he held till his death. ""The Swapo Party national leaders assigned to the Kavango East Region have learnt with deep shock of the untimely tragic death of comrade Erick Tjandja, the Swapo Party regional mobiliser,"" said John Mutorwa, the country’s agriculture minister. According to Mutorwa the late Tjandja was a committed, loyal and patriotic Namibian. ""As regional mobiliser, he was an effective and efficient leader of Swapo Party,"" he said. Mutorwa further described Tjandja as competent, hard-working, honest, friendly and open-minded. “He was a very professionally talented individual with great potential,” Mutorwa observed. Tjandja had been Swapo’s regional mobiliser since 2009. He will be buried at Rundu's Sauyemwa cemetery on Saturday. There are two planned memorial services – one slated for today at the Rundu Vocational Training Centre and the main one on Friday at the Rundu Sports Stadium. Tjandja is survived by his wife Elizabeth and three children.  "
