After recently featuring on these pages, hairdresser and nail technician Ronel Amukena (27) has temporarily set up shop in Dis-Chem at Wernhil, offering a combo special on nails and make-up.

Amukena told VIBEZ! she is excited about the collaboration with Wernhil Dis-Chem, and views it as a step forward in her business, which she wants to diversify to include her farming project in Katima Mulilo.

“I want to gain experience from my acrylic nail work even though it is hard to balance between the different types of work that I am doing,” added Amukena, who started doing hairdressing and manicure in her high school days as a means to sustain herself.

She is a first-year education student at the University of Namibia, and also sells fruit and vegetables that she imports from Zambia and South Africa.

Wernhil Dis-Chem store manager Gunther Heubel emphasised the need for joining and complementing one another in these hard times.

“Amukena has something that we do not have in our store and we have something that she does not have. In a way, we need to bring our skills and knowledge together for mutual benefit,” added Heubel.

The combo special includes full face makeup and acrylic manicure; makeup and eye lashes; brow shaping and tinting; among others.

Julia Puteho who is one of Amukena’s clients, described her work as top-notch, affordable and durable.

“Amukena’s nail work is outstanding. Her glow-in-the-dark acrylic work stunned me even though at first I had my doubts about it,” added Puteho.

Another client, Johanna Haipinge told VIBEZ! Amukena’s work is done neatly and professionally.

“Amukena has all the time for her clients, thus making sure they leave the place happy and satisfied,” added Haipinge.
