Miss Namibia Educational Ambassador has big plans
2015-04-08Staff Report 2 WINDHOEK-The newly crowned Miss Namibia Educational Ambassador, Loide Katjuskah (24), has big plans with her new title that she won on Saturday at the Oshikango Town Lounge. Loide says winning the title was a great moment of her life and she is very proud and honoured to take a big step when it comes to Namibian education. “I am so concerned when it comes to education and orphans in Namibia, so I won’t mind sharing the 50 percent of my winning by buying school uniforms, school materials and food for school children and orphans,” pledges Loide. She will be visiting schools around the country to familiarise herself with wht is happening and for the necessary intervention. “I will be addressing learners on the importance of education and on different issues such as teenage pregnancies, Gender Based Violence, the dangers and side effects of pregnancies, and alcohol and drug abuse,” says Loide. She adds that she will also be addressing parents’ meetings so that they can help the education system to deliver. “I will also be encouraging other youths to keep their talents and make their dreams come true,” says Loide. According to the organiser of the pageant, Fillemon Filly-zo, the winner will commence her duty as the ambassador of education on May 10. “She will also be doing charitable projects and donations for different schools in the country,” he says. The winner walked away with N$5000, a weekend at Mokuti Lodge and different goodies. The winner will also be getting a fixed salary of N$ 1423 per month and a transport allowance of N$849.50 per month for a period of one year. The other two winners are Petrina Mathews asFirst Princess, and Rail Lucas the Second Princess.
