Namibia targets third place at Rugby Trophy
Windhoek Namibia's U/20 rugby team goes into this weekend with a massive chance of finishing third overall at the U/20 Junior World Rugby Trophy tournament, underway in Harare, Zimbabwe. The Namibian youngsters will take on Fiji in the Bronze Final of the tournament this Sunday and a possible victory against the Fijians is every much expected. Namibia finished second in their pool. In the opening match of the tournament, Namibia started on a high note beating the USA 46-44, before stumbling against Spain by 22-40 in their second match. But the boys from the Land of the Brave however managed to dust themselves off with a comprehensive 70-8 victory against Hong Kong on Wednesday. Coming off the back of such a refreshing victory, an even much better and highly improved performance against the Fijians is expected given the current high spirits within the camp and among the technical staff. A tough battle against the Fijians should be expected as they also have an impressive record in the tournament so far, having won two matches and only lost one. Fiji also opened their account with a courageous 38-34 win over Uruguay before losing their second match 32-8 against Samoa. They however also managed to bounce back with a 42-22 win over host nation Zimbabwe.
