Namibian Hunters Give to Learning
"By Staff Reporter WINDHOEK The Namibian Professional Hunters Association on Friday donated much-needed equipment to three schools at Okahandja, it was announced in a press statement. The donations were made as part of the organization's ""Hunters Support Education"", project at the J G van der Wath Secondary School hall. The Minister of Environment and Tourism, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, was the guest speaker at the event. In her short speech, she thanked the hunters' body for contributing towards quality education in the country. She praised NAPHA for investing money in education, which falls in line with Government's educational programme. Three of the Okahandja schools joined hands for the ceremony and contributed by way of different class prefects and choirs towards the success of the event. Speeches were also made by the principal of J G van der Wath School, G. Haoseb, the CEO of NAPHA Almut Kronsbein and founder of this project and chairperson for four years, Gudrun Heger. The speakers all emphasized the role of discipline, responsibility and respect in education. The schools that received donations were: J G van der Wath, a colour laser-jet printer and a voucher for renovations of N$4 000 at the school; Okahandja Primary School received a Bubblejet printer as well as a colour laserjet printer; while Nau-Aib Primary School received a fax machine and hostel crockery, cutlery and jugs for 300 learners staying in a hostel. "
