2014-01-24Staff Report 2 "WINDHOEK- The top eight Trustco’s star performers shined at the Applause Rising Talents Showcase (ARTS) in Orlando Florida in the United States of America (USA) last month walking away with eight awards. Hilgard Brandt, a male model won the award for third place fashion runway model, third place photography model, first place swimsuit model and achieved the overall male fashion award in the overall TOP11 category winners. David, Jaroem, Edwin and Basil of the Vocal Dynamix group, walk away with the overall singers’ award in overall TOP11 category winners, they were in the TOP10 in the singing competition and all four members won life time access to the ARTS. David McCorney, from the Vocal Dynamix took third place in the vocal category competition and also won a scholarship from the New York Film Academy. Rodelio Luis, an actor, received call backs form agents such as a partial scholarship to the New York Film Academy, Abrams Artist and BET. Fedilio, a dancer was in the TOP10 of the dance competition. Davine-Lee singer was in the TOP10 in the vocal category. John singer was in the TOP10 singing category. And Almut female model, agencies from Atlanta, Chicago, New York and Los Angeles showed interest in her. Jaroem Halnoster, a member of the Dynamix group says it was a blessing for Namibians to get all these awards and for their group being the overall singers, it is something to celebrate and thank God for. “You will never know how far you can go and how good you are with your talent if you do not try to use it,” he adds. Edwin McCorney says the competition was not easy but they managed do their best, and worked as a group work. “We showed those people that we are from the land of the brave and that explains it,” he excites.
