National student fund to engage at OATF 2015
2015-08-20Staff Report 2 Windhoek The Namibia Students Financial Assistance Fund (NSFAF) will be joining other Namibian organisations at the Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair (OATF), which will be held from August 28 to September 05. The event offers the perfect opportunity to network and engage with stakeholders, which is the reason why NSFAF will be present with a booth and several of its key people. The booth will be located in the King Kauluma Hall, booths number 10 and 11. According to the NSFAF its mandate is to provide financial assistance in the form of loans/grants to eligible students at approved institutions of higher learning and to recover money from beneficiaries upon completion of their studies, which is a highly complex mandate that involves many stakeholders. To be able to properly explain how it all works requires continuous engagement with the relevant stakeholder groups. “The OATF is a perfect opportunity for stakeholders to ask questions, register or even just start thinking about the financial assistance required to achieve their educational dream. Doing it face to face is beneficial for all involved and will ensure a deeper understanding of NSFAF’s activities, as well as the needs and wants of NSFAF’s stakeholders.” The trade fair offers a rare opportunity for people not based around Windhoek to receive the necessary information and assistance from NSFAF. “Looking at the very real challenges facing Namibia in its drive to fulfil its goals and promises set forth in Vision 2030, it is clear that continued development of our students is essential. This can only be achieved through academic development and the pursuit of tertiary education. This is where NSFAF is a major driver in development through its financial assistance activities in the form of grants, loan and bursaries.” Hilya Nghiwete, CEO of NSFAF said; “It is important that NSFAF is not a faceless organisation and through our presence at this great trade fair in Ongwediva we will bring our services and knowledge right to the people and our stakeholders.” 2015-08-20Staff Report 2
