NOA offers training course
WINDHOEK- The Namibia Organic Association (NOA) is offering a day’s training course on April 11 from 08.30 to 17.00 in Okahandja. This is to explain how organic farm assessments are conducted.The process of organic farm assessment takes place annually on organic farms, where the farms are inspected to verify if the farmer follows and complies with the NOA Organic Standards, and whether the farmer can use the NOA Organic Mark to label the products as organic. For more information visit www.noa.org.na Current NOA organic farmers, new or interested organic farmers and consumers who want to find out what is behind the NOA Organic Mark are invited to attend. The aim of the course is to share information on the NOA Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) The programme is: • Requirements to achieve an Organic in Conversion or Full Organic status • The organic assessment process and procedures • Review of documentation requirements • Review of the recent changes to the NOA standards • The roles and responsibilities of the NOA assessors, the farmers, and the observers The venue is 91a Martin Neib Avenue (Main Street), Above Bakery Dekker Restaurant, Okahandja Costs: N$ 80 for food and drinks. The trainer is Stephen Barrow, accredited international organic inspector, Afrisco Certification Manager, member of the IFOAM Standards Committee, and NOA Board member.
