NPL constitution under scrutiny at weekend meeting
Windhoek The country’s flagship league, the MTC Namibia Premiership is to hold a preparatory brainstorming session to map the way forward ahead of a planned two-day NPL Statutes Review Process at a yet to be confirmed venue in Windhoek tomorrow. High on the agenda for the one-day gathering will be the much anticipated review of the constitution where delegates will take a critical look at the NPL’s fragile statutes and regulations and propose amendments to the outdated NPL constitution. Sources close to the NPL revealed to New Era Sport that league authorities have resolved to swallow their pride by extending a hand towards local football gurus and retired footballers and administrators to render assistance at tomorrow’s session. All NPL affiliates are requested to send two accredited members to represent their respective club/institutions at the meeting. The same members are also obliged to attend the two-day envisaged Statutes Review Workshop, slated for June 17. FIFA officials in conjunction with NFA will facilitate the long overdue NPL Statutes Review Process. The NPLhas requested would-be participants to submit names of their representatives to the NPL directorate by 12h00 today.
