Okahandja Natis inundated by 'Windhoekers'
"WINDHOEK - The head of the Roads Authority Centre at Okahandja, Issascar Katuuo, informed New Era that the driving testing centre at the town is inundated with people from Windhoek. Katuuo explained that Wednesday was reserved for people taking their learners' exams and usually when those are completed, applicants make bookings for their driving tests. ""But some of the driving schools come with two or three people,"" he said and added that they then push to the front of the queue. He explained that the centre only takes 40 applicants per day and ""we only have one examiner, but the people are a lot. I sometimes have to assist the examiner which is not allowed,"" he added. ""Okahandja is full with people from Windhoek,"" I don't know what is in Windhoek, whether there are not enough examiners,"" he added. Katuuo denied that the centre would no longer be taking people from Windhoek. He however said, instructors will no longer be booking applicants for the driver’s tests, who are now advised to do their own bookings and only then may instructors bring take them for the driver’s tests. An email to the Roads Authority was not returned, while calls went unanswered. By Tunomukwathi Asino"
