Okahandja rape, murder suspects denied bail
Windhoek Three men implicated in the assault, gang-rape and murder of a 42-year-old woman at Okahandja over the weekend were denied bail when they appeared in the Okahandja Magistrate’s Court this week. The victim was Selma Namhindo,42, who was assaulted, gang-raped and killed in the early morning hours of Sunday in Okahandja’s Dom Location between 03h00 and 07h00. The accused are Michael Gariseb, 18, Lourenzo Dausab, 22 and Joseph Geibeb, 34. They face charges of murder, rape and robbery with aggravating circumstances. Otjozondjupa regional public relations officer, Warrant Officer Maureen Mbeha informed New Era that it is suspected that Namhindo was also robbed, as some of the fruits she used to sell were found next to one of the suspects. The police investigation continues. Namhindo next of kin have been informed.
