Just days after young people took to the street of the capital Windhoek, to demand an end to violence against women and children; a mother of two was senselessly killed by her boyfriend on Tuesday evening in Katutura. 
A 39-year-old man fatally shot his girlfriend (age unknown) then turned the gun on himself on Tuesday evening in Windhoek’s informal settlement of Ombili. 

Police spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi said the man who has been identified as Martin Mupopiwa arrived at his girlfriend family’s residence and demanded that she returns home with him. 
The couple lived together in a shack located at Ombwa ya lyata Otina near Okahandja Park 

It is alleged that Ndapewa Moses refused the request which resulted in Mupopiwa pulling out a gun and shooting her in the head. After the fatal shooting, he subsequently turned the gun unto himself. 
Mupopiwa used his personal 9 mm firearm to commit the heinous murder, according to the police. 
The couple had two children together.  The police said the shooting is being investigated as a murder-suicide case.
