A 56-year-old man shot himself with a shotgun on Tuesday evening at Oshitundu village in the Oshikuku constituency of the Omusati region.
The crime investigations coordinator in Omusati, deputy commissioner Moses Simaho said the victim, identified as Timoteus Shivolo, shot himself in the throat.
He died before reaching the Oshikuku hospital.
“According to the information at hand, the deceased had a domestic problem,” said Simaho.
His next of kin have been informed.
There was no suicide note found, and investigations into the matter continue.
This is the second shooting incident at Oshikuku in less than two weeks.
Last week, a 45-year-old man handed himself over to the police after shooting his former girlfriend at the town.
The suspect allegedly shot the deceased with a pistol following a disagreement between the two.
The suspect allegedly also pointed the pistol at the daughter, but the weapon luckily malfunctioned.
