Opinion - Shades and scars of legalising gay marriages (part 1)

Allow me space in your esteemed newspaper to air my views on the captioned matter. The first gay marriage took place between Marcia Kadish, 56, and Tanya McCloskey, 52, of Malden, Massachusetts, who married at Cambridge City Hall in Massachusetts, USA, becoming the first legally married same-sex partners in the United States. As years progressed, 77 other same-sex couples tied the knot across the state, and hundreds more applied for marriage licenses. However, other American states have refused to legalise gay marriages, thus making an American nation a divided nation in this regard and causing more confusion as the case may be.

On 21 September 1996, Clinton signed the Defence of Marriage Act (DOMA) - “President Clinton signs Defence of Marriage Act into law. It defines marriage as ‘a legal union between one man and one woman as husband and wife’ and defines a spouse as ‘a person of the opposite sex who is a husband or a wife.’ That definition affects 1 049 laws determining eligibility for federal benefits, rights or privileges.” But President Clinton stood his ground as a leader and he will continue to inspire many.

In March 1995, “Utah Governor, Mike Leavitt, signed into law the first state Defence of Marriage statute, which stipulates that Utah State does not have to recognise out-of-state marriages that violate state public policy.” But Governor Mike Leavitt stood his ground as a leader and he will continue to inspire many.

On 18 May 1970, two University of Minnesota students, Richard John ‘Jack’ Baker and James Michael McConnell applied to Hennepin County District Court clerk Gerald Nelson for a marriage licence. He denied the application, because the applicants both were men. Baker and McConnell sued Nelson, claiming Minnesota law on marriage made no mention of gender. The trial court was not impressed with the argument, agreeing with Nelson. The state Supreme Court agreed with the lower court. When Baker-McConnell went to the US Supreme Court, the couple was rebuffed again. But Nelson supported by his government, stood their ground and will continue to inspire many.

In the Editor’s Note, in 1971, the Minnesota Supreme Court ruled in one of the Baker-McConnell lawsuits that “the institution of marriage as a union of man and woman uniquely involving the procreating and rearing of children within the family is as old as the book of Genesis.”] Minnesota Supreme Court stood its ground and will continue to inspire many.

On 21 November 1976 - Non-Church Sanctioned Gay Wedding Makes News here as far back as 21 November 1976, in Northwest Washington, [Wayne] Schwandt and [John] Fortunato walked down the aisle side by side, wearing matching embroidered tunics. Reporters wrote about what Fortunato and Schwandt called a holy union, which was controversial not because there was talk of legalising gay marriage but because the two men publicly ask for and were denied the blessing of the Episcopal Church. But the Episcopal Church stood its ground as a church and will continue to inspire many.

In 1973 - Maryland Bans Same-Sex Marriage - “Maryland becomes the first state in the USA to pass a statute banning marriage between same-sex couples when it included it in its Family Law Code, a line reading as follows, ‘Only a marriage between a man and a woman is valid in this State.’” Maryland stood its ground and will continue to inspire many.

Anything that violates the law of the government is known as a crime and anything that violates the law and nature of God is known as sin. Therefore, the governments may legalise such evil acts like gay marriages, but God keeps these evil acts and these evil people will face their final fate with God. The manner in which gay marriages claim children go on arrangement through a professional sperm bank using a middle man to link them up and negotiate this arrangement. The sperm bank has lists of people like Nobel Prize winners, engineers, mathematicians, scientists, brilliant scholars of society, etc., and they go through the blood bank to negotiate with such a specialist or brilliant person to get his sperms and take to a woman who will bear that child for nine complete months. Once this child is born, the child is given to the gay who needs that child. It is an agreement between the two of them in the he/he or she/she marriages. There is no way gay marriages can produce a baby unless they do it this way.

If gay people want to state that they have a child, they must state how this child was brought to them. The judiciary cannot only make new laws that were not in the country to accommodate a minority group of people with evil intentions. A right should be accepted by all the members of society as a norm or a value within this same society. How can a section of fewer people come up with evil intentions and claim that this is a right and then demand that laws be enacted for them? If indeed the courts are saying in the dock that the plaintiff or the accused should say before stating his or her case that, “nothing else but the truth, so help me God.” Can a government be forced to come with new laws which they never thought of as good for society? If people representing gay marriages come and swear that they have babies or children, how did they get them? Also, courts should strictly demand that the gay people who claim that they are married to each other go to the sperm banks and get the real father who donated the sperm and the woman who conceived the baby for nine months through artificial sperm injected into her to give birth to that baby or child as they claim. Birth certificates and identity documents should not be issued to people who travel from other countries with such illegitimate children and come to countries that do not have such laws. South Africa is the only neighbouring country that has legalised gay marriages so far. Who are the fathers and mothers of these children? Let those gay marriage people go there in those countries and get these mothers and fathers who mothered and fathered those children because they have such laws and we do not have such laws. We cannot make a law to accommodate evil acts in society. Let the sperm banks release the names of these fathers and mothers and these birth certificates they demand be given in the real names of their fathers and mothers and no claims of babies or children in gay marriages should be allowed because that is a lie and contravenes the legal systems where they say “nothing else but the truth, so help me God.” The institution of gays, lesbians, etc. is a diversion from the norms, morals and values of society and the nature of the marriage institution as designed and ordered by God and should not be entertained at all. This is moral decay. Let gay people do those things on their own without governments legalising such evil acts. In Western Europe, the rates of acceptance are much higher. The highest is in Spain, where gay marriage facts show that 91% of people believe homosexuality should be accepted by society. Germany is second highest, with 87% of people saying society should accept same-sex relations. Gay people and lesbians are dancing with their throats lying on a two-edged sharp sword ensnared by the society they live in, as we shall see in part 2 next week. They are hated and face risks of being killed secretly or publicly through going into prisons or hanging in most countries that do not approve of such gay activities.

Every human being knows he is waiting for two lives to live of which one is destined to die while living on earth and the second one is life after death with God or dying in the second death after this life. Every human being knows he is waiting for two deaths to live and die, of which one is destined to die while living on earth and the second one is life after death with God or dying in the second death after this life. No one was created by God to live independently from God. We will all give our accounts on the last day. Evil people are destined for destruction and the righteous ones for eternal life that comes with God.
