Otjiwarongo businesses urged to service UN

A business seminar for vendors in Otjiwarongo, Otjozondjupa region, is slated for tomorrow. The event is being hosted by the trade ministry in collaboration with the United Nations Office of Supply Chain Management Enabling and Outreach Service.

The objective of the seminar is to increase the vendors’ awareness of opportunities within the United Nations, including insight on UN procurement values, policies, processes, buying profiles and registration process.

“On our journey for industrialisation, government through the Ministry of Industrialisation and Trade will continue to implement practical policies aimed at encouraging investment, industrialisation and economic growth,” stated trade ministry spokesperson Elijah Mukubonda. He added: “We will continue to put measures in place to support the local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) so they can become more profitable and effectively participate in the country’s mainstream economy. It is in this association we recognise the critical role of vendors in the socio-economic development and economic diversification of the country.”
