Outjo woman hacked to death
"WALVIS BAY - Domestic violence claimed the life of a 29-year-old woman who was allegedly hacked to death by her former boyfriend in the ‘Kap en Bou’ informal settlement in Outjo, Otjizondjupa Region, on Friday evening at around 19h00. The deceased was identified as Engnesia /Ais while the suspect, a 30-year-old man, is currently in police custody and will appear today in the Outjo magistrates’ court to face a charge of murder. The Deputy Commissioner of the Namibian Police in the Otjizondjupa Region, Moses Khairabeb, said the suspect who is believed to be /Ais's former boyfriend, allegedly killed her with a panga shortly after he arrived at her residence at the informal settlement, where he demanded to see her. ""She had open wounds on her head, chest, right arm, and three fatal wounds on her throat. The injuries were severe and she died on her way to Outjo hospital,” he explained. It is believed the suspect arrived on his bike at the deceased’s home but was apparently instructed to go back as she was no longer interested in the relationship and did not want to see him again. He then allegedly pulled the panga from his waist and attacked /Ais. Neighbours alerted the police but upon their arrival /Ais had already been attacked by the suspect. He was arrested on the scene while /Ais was rushed to hospital where she died. According to Nampol, the couple had been dating for almost a year , but /Ais ended the relationship due to abuse."
