A potpourri of art, music, dance and poetry in capital
KIFA is a festival celebrating creation, formed by a community of international artists in the diaspora collaborating with artists in Namibia. KIFA will promote art as a resource for sustenance in the Namibian economic industry and hence it facilitates art industry networks, collaborative practices and investments. By creating and promoting collaborative cultures in the arts circle, KIFA contributes to boosting Namibia's economy by creating prospective career opportunities in the art world and other sectors and attracting partnerships for fast growth and education for a better Namibia. The three day festival is debuting on September 1 to 3 in Windhoek at different venues along Robert Mugabe Avenue. Collaborative art work from different spheres of influence around the world will be exhibited during this festival alongside workshops on collaborative skill enhancement (e.g. book keeping, marketing, social media skills, workshop facilitation, proposal writing, etc.) conducted during the festival on community grass root level to bridge the gap between Namibian art and the global art networks. Tickets are N$ 150 for a one day pass to N$400 for a three day pass and are available online at staytoday.com or at the biltong shop at Maerua Mall. Different performances from different art disciplines will be on show each day with the line-up changing from day one to day three seeing all the four stages running for the three days from 10h00 to 22h00. The acts over the three days include Anna Shalihu, Zenzo, The Ell’s, Victor Kunonga, Hans Jon Brandenburg, Lize Elhers, Enchente, Savanah Afros, Ras Shehama, Ashwyn, Stephanie Pharr, Black gypsy, Keith Vries, Jacques Mushaandja, Hazel Hinda, Shal Bernard, Dj Fish, Dj Chinchila, Shiva featuring Mokazaluma, Formula Band, Jeff d and Meta and Slickartie For more information kindly visit the KIFA Facebook page by searching Kalahari Festival of Arts.
