PTA Tennis Series resumes this weekend
The Windhoek High School (WHS) tennis courts will be the centre of attraction when the two-day Namibia PTA tennis series, the only local event which sees participants battle it out according to their skills rather than their age, resumes this weekend. The tourney is slated for the Windhoek High School (WHS) tennis courts in the capital. Action is guaranteed in the mini category where Eila Kambonde and Jamilla Hungamo have been engaged in a great rivalry since the beginning of the year. In February, it was Kambonde who took top honours. However, a month later, Hungamo held the upper hand to be crowned the winner. In the beginner’s category, Mike Kambonde is expected to continue his dominance. The defending champion in this category won the first two tourneys and is favourite again. However, Kambonde cannot be too complacent as the likes of Faith Kahuure, Delicia Dirkse and Megano Sheeya are sure to give him some competition. More intense tennis action can be expected for the intermediate category where Brandon Maasdorp and Lorentz Kotze recorded a stalemate during the last tourney. More Info is available from Romeo van Wyk at romeo@protennisacademy.com.na or 081 234 9523. Entries close tomorrow – Wednesday, May 20.
