Reflecting on 2022

Today, we present the views of several local creatives on what the year 2022 meant for them in terms of their craft. Amongst others, we asked about their highlights and accomplishments, who or what made their year, and lessons learned as well as their thoughts on mental health.

This is what they had to say:

Singer: Waters

How have you stayed afloat with your mental health this year?

I learned so much about my mental health. It was a challenging year.

What were your highlights of the year or the industry you create in?

I don’t have any major highlights

What did you accomplish this year that you’re most proud of?

Performing on a fashion runway was cool; I enjoyed it.

What event or person made your year?

Windhoek Fashion Week

What was the biggest lesson (s) you learned this year?

There’s a lot of snakes in the grass; people aren’t who they seem to be.

What was your word/saying for the year?

“My time is coming”

What was your favourite creative piece/project this year?

A project called ‘Sixteen’ with my brother Jovanko.

What changes did you make this year in support of your creativity?

My approach to creating music has changed. I’ve learned to respect my process.

What project have you put off that you really want to do?

There are a lot, and they’re all equally important for my career.

What do you wish you knew before getting into the industry?

Nothing, I’m glad I get to learn as I go. It’s beautiful.
