2008-02-21Staff Report 2 By Staff Reporter WINDHOEK Six people died on Monday in a collision between two vehicles along the Tsumeb-Oshivelo Road. Police yesterday said four people died on the spot while two died on their way to Tsumeb State Hospital. Among the six were two prison officers at the Ministry of Safety and Security, namely Andreas Amutenya from the Divundu Prison and Loide Kamati from the Elizabeth Nepembe Juvenile Centre, both in Rundu. Another victim was identified as Simeon Igonda. Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Kauna Shikwambi, yesterday said the accident happened at around 14h30 when a wheel fell off the minibus and the driver lost control resulting in a collision with a Toyota Camry bearing a Grootfontein registration number. The victims include a baby girl, three women and two men. Meanwhile, three more people died, two from drowning in the Elonga and Omaputu villages and the other one of unknown causes at Ouranda location in Opuwo. Johannes Simon Nambili Rudolf (3) allegedly drowned in a well on Monday while Josephine Hashiyoma (18) jumped into a pond and drowned on Sunday evening.
