Sound for Sight Music Festival ready to rock
SWAKOPMUND- The first ever benefit rock concert for the blind - the Sight for Sound Music Festival takes place in Windhoek tomorrow drawing an exciting line-up of 12 local artists and bands. They promise to raise the roof of the Vintage Bar and Grill in Olympia  with proceeds going towards a school for the visually impaired in Khomasdal. Windhoek music lovers can get ready for an incredible collaboration of some of the best live musicians that Namibia has to offer. This charitable event has been organised by Alfred Visser and drummer with sound technician Wouter de Bruyn providing the stage sound. The exciting lineup includes the 'hot' Swakop boy band Brown Paper Bag, Windhoek rockers 'Safe 19' and 'Swollen Revolver', Penny Lane, Windpomp Boere Orkes, Rush Hour, Tripping on Cables, RAT trio, the blond Desdemona sisters, SA Idols contender John Rock Prophet, acoustic act Solitary Man, Koos Van Zyl, and rock chic Savannah with her drummer Eben fresh up from Cape Town.  Entrance fee  is only N$ 50. Food and drinks will be available with the first act on stage at 12:00 with the concert runnin till late into the night. Sound For Sight Music Festival is a first of its kind and aims to raise funds, through live music, for the School for the visually impaired, which is situated in Komasdal. The children attending the school are mainly housed in the hostel and are different ages. Their needs include items such as an embossing machine, audio tables for educational purposes, food, clothing and other general necessities. For more information see the Sound For Sight Facebook page and give them a like - but even better turn up at Vintage Bar tomorrow to join in the fun.
