South-South cooperation…
Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila said she appreciates India’s commitment and remains hopeful that South-South cooperation is the appropriate and sustainable way for developing countries to strengthen their development efforts and to achieve greater success in their endeavours. Speaking during a courtesy call by the High Commissioner of India to Namibia Kumar Tuhin to her office on Friday, Kuugongelwa-Amadhila said India has achieved a lot in terms of development, both economic and technological. “Namibia can learn useful lessons from them. We want to do that and we believe that at the end of the day we can work together to improve the relations, while exploring other avenues of cooperation,” the prime minister said. The two touched on a number of issues of common interest. India is the world’s second most populous nation and has achieved remarkable successes in areas of infrastructure development, technology, health and education and Kumar said his country’s success could be duplicated in Namibia. He said his country would work close with Namibia in trade and economic promotion, as well as sharing good practices. He promised to lure his countrymen to Namibia in the near future to uncover promising investment opportunities.
