St Paul's College Wins Science Fair
"By Frederick Philander WINDHOEK With four project prizes St Paul's College on Friday walked away with top honours in the 26th annual two-day Khomas Regional Science Fair that was held at the Polytechnic of Namibia. Suiderhof Primary School scooped first prize in the primary school category. According to the chief organizer of the science fair, Yvone Hansen, a total of 24 schools from the Khomas Region entered for the event with 210 learners actively participating with 178 science projects. ""The entry qualities were much better than previous years - an indication that the fair is now fully on track and has come to stay,"" Hansen said. Thirty of the best entries will be entered for the national science fair, which will be held in the capital from 8 to 10 September. The complete results are: - secondary schools categories: St Paul's College (agriculture, building science and human sciences); St George's Secondary School (biology and chemistry); Windhoek Technical High School (computer science) and Concordia College (water purification) The primary school winners are Suiderhof Primary School (engineering bridges and mathematics); St George's (geology and environmental science); Holy Cross Convent (electricity, energy and power); St Paul's College Primary School (medical sciences); Gammams Primary School (physics); Pionierspark Secondary School (technology and innovation). "
