Stage set for Dreamfields Project tourney
The Katutura Youth Complex in Windhoek is to play host to the newly introduced Dreamfields Project - an Auas Motors and Chevrolet-sponsored football tournament end of this month. The two-day tournament sees eight schools from disadvantaged communities becoming the proud recipients of Dream Bags filled with football kits and equipment. Each team would also receive a One World Futbol, a durable ball that does not go flat, which can be used for training purposes. Deputy Minister of Youth, Sport and National Service Agnes Tjongarero would lead a powerful delegation of high-ranking sports personalities that include Acting Director of Sport Sivute Katamba and Deputy Director of Schools Sport Norii Kaanjuka to the tournament. Other notable personalities to attend the event would be Chairperson of the Namibian Sport Commission Kuki Katjioungua, Commissioner for Namibian Schools Sports Union (NSSU) Monica Bohitile and NSSU Chairperson Fedelis Thibenyani. Participants will experience the joy and magic of the beautiful game and organisers have urged the public to come out en masse. “We need your support and humbly request the people out there to come out and support this noble innovative [event] and share with us some of the magical moments,” reads the brief statement by the event organisers.
