Standard Bank’s 100 years parade paints Namibia blue
2015-09-18Staff Report 2 Windhoek 2015 marks the year that Standard Bank Namibia turns 100 years old. The bank continues to celebrate the successes of its people, the industry, its customers and the country, that have contributed to making it what it is today. In marking the centennial jubilation of a bank that stood the test of time over the past 100 years, Standard Bank Namibia recently held a 100 years street parade in the city centre and delighted customers with cupcakes at its branches countrywide. With all the fanfare of blue and white balloons, the chants of moving forward and the energising sounds of the Namibian Defence Force Brass Band, hundreds of Standard Bank employees walked down Independence Avenue from Ausspannplatz to the Windhoek Branch in the city centre. “The purpose of the street parade and sweet delights for our walk-in customers at the branches is to show our appreciation to them for standing by us and to invite them to join in celebrating this milestone event. “After all, a century of banking means that we’ve been part and parcel of making a difference in the lives of Namibians and have helped make dreams come true,” says Jacquiline Pack, Standard Bank Namibia’s Head of Marketing. “We plan many exciting celebratory events and activities that will involve employees, customers and other important stakeholders.
