STAR OF THE WEEK
The highlight of this week is certainly the visit of 12-year-old Armando Pieters and his “delegation” to State House, where he introduced himself as the future president of the country and current founder and executive director of Poverty Eradication Warriors. The Grade 6 pupil stood firm in his philosophy to clean the suburbs and the presidential couple were highly impressed as the pupil at People’s Primary School in Windhoek outlined his future plans to help the president eradicate poverty. The group of 15 members started last weekend to pick up litter in their community and have plans to organise food for a soup kitchen for the elderly. During the meeting he introduced his nephew Nabot Tomas (16) as vice-chairperson, his 35-year-old secretary Lubyckie Vlees and his 33-year-old treasurer Beolie Pieters, who will give guidance. Also in attendance were his 14-year-old sister Lindiwe Dryer and 13-year-old brother Antonio Dryer. What was evident, and corroborated by his team, is that Armando is an exceptional young man who does not ask for handouts, but is prepared to go the extra mile to execute his dreams. By this, Poverty Eradication Warriors once again showed that President Hage Geingob’s message of walking the talk of the Harambee Prosperity Plan (HPP) is alive.
