Swakopmund, De Duine shine in classic clashes
2015-07-15Staff Report 2 Swakopmund Last weekend saw both Swakopmund and De Duine secondary schools win their respective FNB Classic Clashes football matches against Coastal High School (3:0) and Namib High School (2:0), respectively. Man of the match Nathan Beukes netted a brace for Swakopmund SS, while the other goal was scored by Goodwin !Awaseb. The Namib Mills Hero award went to Jonas Sheyavali, also from Swakopmund SS, for his outstanding exploits. Jonas, who is a sea rescuer, West Coast Safety Initiative ambassador and part-time worker at Emed Rescue, is also the vice-chairperson of the learners’ representative council and a top ten student. In the match between Namib High and De Duine, the latter’s striker Elrico Januarie netted both goals and earned the man of the match award, while Bill Ackerman of Namib High walked away with the Namib Mills Hero award for his academic achievements. The next football matches take place over the coming weekend with Kuisebmond and SI Gobs confronting each other on Friday at 14h00 at the Kuisebmond stadium. West Side High and Kolen Foundation will lock horns on Saturday at 11h00 at the Mondesa sport fields, Swakopmund. 2015-07-15Staff Report 2
