2006-05-16Staff Report 2 By Kuvee Kangueehi Windhoek The case of former judge Pio Teek has been postponed to May 29. The matter was postponed for new trial dates to be set. No dates could be set yesterday at the High Court as the court could not get hold of South African Judge Ronnie Bosielo. The case Teek started at the end of April in the High Court and could not be completed within the five days that were set and thus new dates for the trial to continue are expected to be set on May 29. Teek is accused of rape, attempted rape, abduction and providing liquor to minors and is out on bail of N$10 000 with stringent conditions attached. When the trial resumes the court will listen to the testimony of the two alleged victims as well as the other children involved in the case. The court will move from the High Court to the Katutura Magistrates Court which is equipped with special courtrooms where minors can testify. Bosielo has already listened to the testimony of the mothers of the alleged victims, doctors as well as the police officers in the Teek matter. During the different testimonies, it emerged that the police were grossly negligent in their investigations. The victims of the alleged crime that has scandalised the judiciary and set tongues wagging are girls aged nine and ten who reside in Katutura, from where they were reportedly picked up and driven to the judge's residence, some 35 km north of Windhoek.
