A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by three suspects on Friday around 10h00 at Okamwandi-Oniipa area in the Oshikoto region.
According to deputy commissioner Petrus Shigwedha, it is alleged the victim took a taxi that was already occupied by three males, including the driver.
The victim was going to a fish shop at Oniipa – and on the way there, the driver drove past a drop-off point, and asked if the victim had money or a cellphone – to which she replied she does not have anything.
The driver stopped the vehicle under a tree, and all suspects started demanding sex from her while one suspect was pointing a knife at her.
The suspects undressed the victim, and all three of them had sexual intercourse with the victim without her consent.
The suspects drove off immediately after they raped her.
No arrest has yet been made, as the suspects are unknown and no vehicle registration number was recorded.
Meanwhile, in the Oshikoto region at Onyome village, a 62-year-old pensioner was allegedly raped on Friday by an unknown suspect while she was on her way home from the cucashops around 20h00.
The suspect approached her from behind, grabbed her and undressed her.
He then had sexual intercourse with her against her will.
In another related incident, a pensioner at Iikola village was reportedly raped on Monday around 12h00 on her way from cucashops
The victim was taken to Onandjokwe Hospital for medical examination.
Both suspects in the matter have not yet been arrested. Police investigations in the matters continue. - email@example.com
