Namibia’s Pro Tennis Academy (PTA) players are gearing up for the 4th edition of the PTA Series, slatted for the Windhoek High School (WHS) tennis courts this weekend.

The two-day tournament is the only event in Namibia where participants battle it out according to their skills and not their age.

In the mini category, Jamilla Hungamo and Eila Kambonde will be expected to continue their rivalry which dates back to the very first tournament of the year.

Both players have two wins to their name thus far.

The likes of Jozikee Tjaimba and Rejoice Nawases are also big attractions and could spring a surprise as well.

More intense action can be expected in the beginner’s category.

During the last event, Alwera Smith upset the established order to take home her first win but time will tell if she can repeat the success. Her main rivals for the top spot will most likely be Faith Kahuure and Delicia Dirkse.

Meanwhile, it is anyone’s guess as to who will come out tops in the intermediate category, with Brandon Maasdorp so far the most successful player in the category having won the first two events of the season.

Yet, he had to settle for third in the third tournament after being edged out by Cleet Farmer and Mike Kambonde who took first and second place respectively.
