The future of local tennis is bright and in safe hands, says Namibia Tennis Association (NTA) junior tennis committee chairperson, Santie van der Walt.

Van der Walt was speaking to New Era Sport following the successful hosting of the NTA Junior Tennis Tournament over the past weekend, which saw 77 players between the ages of eight and 18 years competing.

A total of 165 matches were played over two days.

Van de Walt expressed delight with the quality and courage the youngsters showed throughout the matches. “The tournament was a success; there is no denying the fact that the overall skill level of Namibian tennis is steadily improving. With a supportive partner like Trustco at our side, we can meet our obligations set out by the International Tennis Federation, become more professional in our conduct, and develop the game of tennis throughout Namibia.”
