Meanwhile, a taxi driver allegedly raped a 26-year-old woman on Saturday between 22h00 and 03h00 in a field near the China Town complex in Windhoek’s Northern Industrial Area. Last Friday between 20h00 and 21h00, at Kalkpan Post 5, Epukiro area, a 41-year-old woman was sleeping in the house with her boyfriend. A man came to the door of the house and demanded that the victim comes out and see him. The victim came out leaving her boyfriend in the house. The suspect then grabbed the victim, threw her to the ground and raped her. The suspect forced the victim to accompany him to his house and he raped her twice along the way. The boyfriend did not intervene because he was afraid of the suspect. The boyfriend later went to inform some people in the village that the suspect took his girlfriend. A 33-year-old man was arrested and was expected to appear in the Gobabis Magistrate’s Court. In the Omusati Region, a 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 28-year-old man last Friday at Onashiku village near Elim. Upon the victim heeding his call the suspect pulled her into the nearby bushes and raped her. The other children witnessed the rape and informed their parents. The rapist was arrested and expected to make a first appearance in the Outapi Magistrate’s Court on Monday morning. Four men armed with a pistol and three knives allegedly attacked a group of seven people who were having a braai at their residence in Gladiola Street in Khomasdal on Thursday last week, and robbed them of their personal belongings.
