KATIMA MULILO – The police in the Zambezi region are investigating a case of rape, where a 32-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a 25-year-old while her husband ran away after being beaten by the suspect at Makolonga village in Zambezi.
According to a police report, the 25-year-old man allegedly knocked on the 32-year-old woman’s door at around 22h00, pretending to be asking for help.
The suspect continuously knocked on the door and told the victim and her husband that he was assaulted.
When they opened the door, the suspect beat the victim’s husband, dragged her inside the room and had sexual intercourse with her while the husband ran out to seek help.
The suspect was later arrested.
In Otjozondjupa, a case of rape was opened after a 20-year-old girl was pulled into the bushes by a 19-year-old boy at Otjiwarongo’s Ombili location; the boy hit her with his head on her mouth, pulled her dress up and raped her.
Meanwhile, at about 22h00 on Thursday, at Ngcamade village, in Kavango West, two boys, aged 13 and 15, were arrested after they raped a 15-year-old girl. It is alleged the suspects pulled the victim into the hut of one of the suspects, where they raped her.
In Windhoek, a case of rape, violations of protection order and trespassing, was on Friday opened at Otjomuise. The suspect is believed to be the ex-boyfriend and father of the 40-year-old victim’s child. The victim is living with a disability.
The accused, despite having been issued a protection order against him, gained entrance through the main door and raped her. She further alleged the suspect raped her on several occasions but she did not report the incidents to the police.
