Two pensioners above the age of 90 have committed suicide over the weekend in the Oshikoto and Ohangwena regions.
According to the police, a 99-year-old man, Kristof Frans was found hanging with a wire around his neck from a tree in the field at Onandjamba village, while a 91-year-old woman, Hendrina Ndayola Mwahaluka was also found hanging from a rope in her sleeping room on Saturday around 06h00, in Epoli village of Ohangwena region.
Meanwhile, two more were also reported committed suicides over the weekend.
A 47-year-old man from Okatundu village, Festus Haituka was found hanging from a tree around 06h00, while a 55-year-old from Oshikwiyu, Gabriel Taapopi Hamunyela was also found hanging from a rope in a tree.
All deceased were identified and their next of kin have been informed.
No suicide notes were found.
