2013-11-01Staff Report 2 WINDHOEK- After 10 years of backtracking, Kwaito artist, Kangumbe Marthin, better known as Uno-Boy is ready to perform live for the first time at the upcoming Okavango Trade fair next week Tuesday. Uno Boy says he is confident and has always known he can do live performances. “I’ve always been rehearsing my songs with different bands and I’ve realised that I can actually do live. It just requires a lot of money and more rehearsal time with the band.” He will perform with Swart Baster, among others. He further adds that live music sounds stronger than backtracking and international recognition comes from it. “This is my first time and I am so ready. From now on I would like to perform more with live bands because my music has grown and matured, especially in my upcoming fifth album and companies must invest more in our artist so we can do live performances because that’s where we can get recognised internationally.” Uno Boy will be performing one of his latest single’s Tamwa, which means real or true friend from his upcoming fifth album, which is scheduled to be released early next month. He is well known for his song Take it Easy, which has won him two awards from his hit album Love Affair and he also won the Most Disciplined Artist in 2011 at the Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMAs).
