ViralCom, a local online music store and marketing agency, is on a mission to financially reward musicians who make the most digital sales of their music – be it singles or albums on the online platform.

“This monthly award will go to the artist with the highest sales figures on ViralCom within the defined sales period. The award will come with N$2 000 cash in addition to the total sales,” explained founder of ViralCom and music promoter Abraham Amushila, commonly known as AB Pro.

The first musician to win The Best Seller: Artist of the Month award is Mr Makoya with his single ‘Lapele’, featuring DJ Siya and DJ Vuyo. The single had the highest sales figures on ViralCom for August.

ViralCom offers an opportunity for artists to submit their music to the site at a minimal fee. The platform then sells the music to fans for N$4.00. The buyer then receives a link via SMS to gain access to the song.

AB Pro said the award levels introduced are Gold, Platinum and Diamond.

“We are on the mission to change mindsets of both artists and consumers by normalising the selling of music. What we are selling is convenience and an opportunity for artists to make money from their singles or albums. It would be nice to have more corporates on board, especially with prizes for winners like what GOtv has done.”

AB Pro also announced a fresh partnership with GOtv Namibia, which will see the rest of the 2021 Best Seller winners rewarded with a GOtv plus package, including a GOtv decoder, GOtenna and one month free GOtv plus subscription.
