A woman was arrested on Saturday after she was found in possession of 3 124 grams of heroin to the value of N$1 572 500 at the Hosea Kutako International Airport.

According to the Namibian Police, the 29-year-old was nabbed at around 15h00 during a police search and being found with the heroin. 

At Outjo, the police caught a 38-year-old man who was in possession of Mandrax (tablets) and cannabis on Sunday at 13h34 in Soweto. 

“The 38-year-old arrested suspect was found in possession of five half Mandrax tablets, one quarter of Mandrax and one balie of pure cannabis to the estimated value of N$230 during a police stop and search,’’ the police stated.

Another drug-related arrest was made at Keetmanshoop, where a 21-year-old man was found in possession of cannabis. He was also charged with defeating the ends of justice. 

“On Friday at about 15h45 at the Keetmanshoop/Aroab hiking point, it is alleged that the suspect was arrested after he was found in possession of 36 grams of cannabis to the value of N$ 360,’’ the police said.

The suspect then allegedly placed the Mandrax tablets in his mouth and chewed it.
