Woman stabs boyfriend to death

WALVIS BAY – A 26-year-old woman was arrested on Saturday at Walvis Bay after she stabbed her boyfriend to death during an argument.
The incident happened at Sitrien Street in Tutaleni around 04h00, according to the police. Erongo regional crime investigations coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu on Saturday identified the deceased as Adolf Naibab (30). Iikuyu said the couple was drinking at their shack in Tutaleni when they started arguing.

“It is not clear why they were arguing but the suspect allegedly took a knife and stabbed the deceased in the inside of his left thigh,” Iikuyu explained

According to Iikuyu, the deceased collapsed and passed away at the scene. Meanwhile, the girlfriend will appear today in the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court on a charge of murder. In other crime news, a man identified as Robert Hamukonda was found hanging inside the Kuisebmond Soccer Stadium on Tuesday evening. According to the police, Hamukonda allegedly left their home on Tuesday around 22h00 after an argument. Hamukonda’s death brings the total number to three in less than two weeks, in Kuisebmond alone.

Hence, police over the weekend expressed their concern and encouraged residents to rather seek solutions to the problem rather than resorting to taking their own lives. “If there are problems, people should engage social supports, speaks to trusted family members, or other key persons such as pastors as ending one’s life is not the solution,” the police said yesterday.
