Young mom gives birth to quadruplets in Rundu
"Rundu A 24-year-old mother gave birth to quadrupulet boys on Friday, much to the surprise of the health workers in the hospital. ""As far as I can remember this is the first time this has happened in our ward. We normally deliver one at a time, and sometimes twins. I remember we once had triplets here, but quadruplets, this is new. But I think the woman will need assistance – as you know babies are expensive, especially when there is more than one, and the mother is unemployed,” said one of the nurses. The mother, Agnes Kasanga, now has six children. “I am very happy. I already have two girls, the first born is six years old and the second born is four years,” Kasanga said. Kasanga, suffering labour pains, was brought to the Rundu State Hospital from Ncamagoro, a village in Ncamagoro Constituency of Kavango West Region, 45km southwest of Rundu on the Rundu-Grootfontein road. When this reporter asked Kasanga what assistance she may need, she said: ""I can't decide on the kind of assistance but people can support us or give anything they can. I know it's going to be difficult for me but by the grace of God, who gave them to me, all will be fine.” The father of the babies is said to be in the south of the country, where he works on a grape farm. He is from the same village. If any good Samaritan has anything to offer the family, they may contact this reporter or the hospital to link them to the mother, as she and the newborns are still under hospital care. The tiny babies are currently being cared for in the incubator section of the maternity ward."
