Youth invited to Youth Summit!
"By Selma NeshikoWINDHOEK- If you are an active youth bewteen 18 and 35 years and interested in connecting with over 80 passionate young people from across the world, then the Youth to Youth Summit is for you. Opportunity Development (OD) together with e-globalknowledge are calling on all young  people to apply and be part of the first International Youth to Youth (Y2Y) Summit with the theme:  The Role of Youth in Solving Global Challenges and Bridging Gaps Among Nations. The summit aims to bring together the brightest students, youth activists, leaders in society, entrepreneurs, professors and businesspeople  to start a dialogue on today and tomorrow’s global challenges and to find specific solutions for their redress. The Youth Summit will provide a platform for youth as future leaders of the world to hone their leadership, diplomatic, cultural, intercultural communication, critical thinking and self-development skills. It will also feature highly experienced speakers across youth-related fields who will provide an extra bridge to the discussion thereby contributing to the outcomes of the Summit. It will cover six topics such as Social entrepreneurship as a tool to decrease youth unemployment; Youths as ambassadors of peace education; Youths’ role in decision making process; Development education/education for all; Empowerment of female youths and Youths in diplomacy. The event will also include various activities such as panel sessions; interactive workshops; role model games and simulations; drawing the declaration of the Y2Y Summit; development and creation of scenarios and strategies for real youth involvement in solving local and global challenges; exhibition of cultural and traditional things; cultural performances (participants, embassies, etc.) and a City tour. To be part of the Summit participants are required to be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and potential to become a key leaders in their community; should have a passion for creating positive social change and willingness to use Y2Y experience in their leadership position; have some experience either in politics (local, national, or international), civil society organisations, media, the business sector, local communities, faith based movements and other fields as well as good working knowledge of written and spoken English. Successful candidates will be informed on February , 2015 The Summit will take place on April 16 – 19, 2015 in Vilnius, Lithuania. OD is the main organizer of the Y2Y Summit 2015 in Lithuania, while e-globalknowledge is the main content contributor to the Summit.    "
