Zikomo Africa Humanitarian, Art and Entrepreneur Awards is looking for 50 Africa models to showcase outfits of 10 designers during the second edition of the Zikomo Africa Awards ceremony, slated for Lusaka, Zambia in September 2022.

The due date for application is 27 May 2022. Models must be between the ages of 18 and 36, and there are no restrictions on size, height, shape and gender.

Applicants must submit two pictures: a smiling headshot and one full-length picture of themselves without wearing spectacles. The pictures must be clear and free of any filters or effects, and the model must be standing in front of a basic background.  Interested models can contact Meekulu Nadula at 085 7355559 or follow Zikomo on all their social media channels.

The costs of return flights and accommodation will be covered for successful candidates.

The Zikomo Awards ceremony will be live-streamed across the world, and it will be covered by international media outlets such as BET and others.

The awards recognise both known and lesser-known African artists and media personalities from various industries who are doing great work in their respective fields. Several Namibians scooped awards at the maiden event.

They are Namibian socialite and entrepreneur Maria Nepembe, who won three accolades: Fashionista of the Year in Africa, Social Media Influencer in Africa as well as a Lifetime Achievement award. Other Namibians who won are musician Maria Immanuel ‘ML’ for Song of the Year, Auguste Uutoni (Best Fitness Instructor), Tresia Shongola (Bet Make-up), and Nadula Hainane (Best Actress).

The Zikomo Awards do not have a monetary value. However, they reward hard work and provide a platform for the nominated artists to gain recognition on the continent.

It covers various categories, including TV personalities, media houses, actors, night clubs, social media influencers, movie directors, fashion designers, comedians, models, artists, radio personalities, photographers, fitness trainers, hair stylists, entrepreneurs, boutiques, make-up artists and fashionistas.

The public throughout the continent will nominate and vote for organisations and individuals in the arts industry and entrepreneurs on their website www.zikomoawards.com in various categories.

Nominations are open from 2 June 2022 to 15 August 2022.
